By WSBT News1

SOUTH BEND — For a lot of us, the holiday weekend means spending time with family and lots of food. But how do you make healthy choices if you're trying to watch what you eat?

Kirk Mason, Cari Peugeot and Kelli Cheatham are at the end of Week 9 in their Why Weight? 12-week medical weight loss program. Together, they've lost 41 lbs in 8 weeks.

There's always more food when we're around friends and family. Julie Lovisa, RD,CD from Memorial Bariatric & Weight Loss Center visited First Thing in the Morning Friday with advice on portion control around lots of food. Watch the video to see the segment.

Visit the Why Weight? web page for more weight loss advice and to read Cari's and Kelli's blogs.
