SOUTH BEND — At least two people were shot shortly before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in front of a residence in the 200 block of East Broadway on the southeast side.

A late model GMC Suburban parked on the street was riddled with at least 20 bullet holes. Witnesses said they believe an automatic weapon was used in the drive-by shooting.

Police believe three passengers were in the vehicle, but only two were injured.

South Bend Police Capt. Phil Trent said that two victims have been taken to a hospital, but the injuries do not immediately appear to be life-threatening. The names of the victims have not been released.

Investigators say the suspect may be driving a white SUV.

I would now let my kids or their friends bring dramma like that to my house. YOU WANNA KEEP HAVING SHOOT OUT MOVE TO THE COUNTRY WHERE THERE IS OPEN SPACE. I want my kids to be able to play outside. I do not want anyone shot because of your stupid ....

We could put dangerous people in jail and keep them there, but then there wouldn't be room to throw those rich CEOs who steal money into jail. I mean, you don't want a rich middle aged guy jumping out of the bushes at night, now do ya? And it feels so good to stick it to the man. Wow, we're idiots.

There is very little the police can do to prevent these crimes. There aren't enough officers onthe street and I will bet that the victim knew the shooter or at least who it might be. I also bet they said it was some "dude"

Can't we have one day without gun violence. What are the police and the mayor doing to stop all this violence. Why do so many people have guns anyway? We need some leadership in this community that is going to do something about the violence.
