SOUTH BEND — At least two people were shot shortly before 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in front of a residence in the 200 block of East Broadway on the southeast side.

A late model GMC Suburban parked on the street was riddled with at least 20 bullet holes. Witnesses said they believe an automatic weapon was used in the drive-by shooting.

Police believe three passengers were in the vehicle, but only two were injured.

South Bend Police Capt. Phil Trent said that two victims have been taken to a hospital, but the injuries do not immediately appear to be life-threatening. The names of the victims have not been released.

Investigators say the suspect may be driving a white SUV.
