MISHAWAKA — A long-time Mishawaka business is expanding, and the owner says it will mean new jobs and better service.

Jordan Toyota Scion broke ground Thursday on a huge expansion.

Parts, service and sales will be enclosed in one new 40,000 square foot building.

The president of the Jordan Automotive Group says this is a tribute to his father, Jordan Kapson, who started the dealership more than 60 years ago.

"It was my father's dream to start an automobile business and for me to be able to break ground and to do this in remembrance of him and in honor of him is a very personal high for me,” said Craig Kapson.

The new facility will be completed in September.

Kapson expects to hire 10 to 20 more people. That will bring Jordan's total employment to 175.

I lived in St. Joe county all my life. It's refreshing to see that a local company, like Jordan, has made the efforts to hire local companies to build their own building and keep the money right here in St. Joe county. The other local Toyota dealerships cannot say that, as well as many other local businesses. Way to go Jordan.
