Elkhart’s Common Council unanimously approved its smoking ban Thursday night.

Mayor Dick Moore is expected to sign the ordinance Friday, and the ban would take effect 30 days later.

Businesses in Elkhart are worried the measure could hurt their bottom line as it affects restaurants, workplaces and other businesses.
