WSBT receives top awards from the Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association

The Indiana Associated Press Broadcasters Association has announced its winners for the 2008 broadcast awards for television and radio. WSBT received top awards in many categories. Here are a few of the winners.

TV Awards

WSBT received first place awards in the categories of: Outstanding weather operation - Local Television; Best producer - Local Television, Jodie Moser; Best spot news reporting - Local Television; Best enterprise story - Local Television; Best continuous coverage of single event - Local Television; Best investigative report - Local Television; and Best feature - Local Television.

Second place honors were awarded for Best community impact - Local Television; Best producer - Local Television, Leslie Wells; Best investigative report - Local Television; Best station photojournalism - Local Television; and Best web site - Local Television.

Honorable mentions were given to Jim Pinkerton, DeMarco Brown, Chad Damp, Mark Honaker and Isaiah Cooks for Best news series - Local Television and the WSBT News staff for Outstanding news operation - Local Television.

Radio Awards

The WSBT Radio News team won second place for best continuous coverage of a single event - Metro Radio. They also tied for first place in the categories of outstanding news operation - Metro Radio, and Best spot news reporting - Metro Radio.

They received second place for best continuous coverage of a single event - Metro Radio.
