BERRIEN SPRINGS — Going green has become a big trend, and more than 900 fifth graders from Berrien County schools spent the day learning about our natural resources at the Youth Fair Grounds in Berrien Springs.

They went to different hands-on stations that taught them about plants, water, soil, wildlife and the great outdoors.

There were also environmental experts there to show them how they can change the world.

"Students will take away tips and ideas on how they can conserve natural resources and just be better to the planet at home and at school," said environmentalist Jill Adams.

Students also got a packet of wildflower seeds to plant at home with their families.
