SOUTH BEND — Former Roseland Town Council member David Snyder was ordered back to jail Friday afternoon for nonpayment of child support.

Magistrate Rochelle Cotter ordered Snyder to serve 45 days in jail or pay $25,000 of his arrearage.

Snyder immediately was taken into custody following a hearing in Probate Court Friday afternoon.

The St. Joseph County prosecutor’s office took Snyder back to court because he has made no child support payments this year, said Catherine Wilson, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office.

This was the third time in less than a year Snyder has been jailed for nonpayment of his $1,300 per month support obligation for his two sons in Texas.
