GRANGER — On Money Mondays, we'll show you ways to cut costs on everything from food to fun. Today we look at ways to use the web to make some extra cash.

Jim Carrico is feeling the heat of the gas prices.

"Gas has obviously gotten very expensive … more so than I budgeted for so I've got to do something to make up the difference,” said Carrico.

So he headed to the iSold It On eBay store in Granger with some items he was willing to part with.

Each item must get at least $30 on eBay.

"We take the item and handle every aspect of it after that — from photography, to writing a description, to posting it on eBay, we handle the payment process, and the shipping — all the things that the person who is selling it doesn't want to mess with at home," explained Linda Williams.

Multiple bins have items that are marked and ready to go on sale on eBay. One train set sold for over $800.

But having someone else do it for you comes at a price.

"We take 30 percent and then we pass along the eBay fees and that's a sliding scale depending on how much the item sells for," Williams said.

MomsMichiana.com and TeriToday.com post coupons that you can print out on everything from groceries to clothes.

Another website called Freecycle.org lets you trade things for free. It's an online message board that shows you what others in your community have, want and need. You set up a free account and let the trading begin!

So for Carrico, he says this is just the beginning of hunting down trash to turn into treasure.

"I can make some money and empty out my garage!" he said.
