Crews were on the scene of a two-vehicle accident at S.R. 13 and U.S. 20, in Middlebury Wednesday.

Elkhart County dispatchers said the crash, involving a car and semi-truck, was reported about 9:10 a.m.

Dispatchers said a power outage in the area prior to the crash caused traffic lights to go out and police were directing traffic in the area.

At least one person was injured and taken to Goshen General Hospital, but there was no word on how serious the injuries were.

Authorities said there were reports of a fuel leak because of the accident.

Traffic was slowed in the area because of the outage and crash.

Charlie is correct on the directing traffic at 13 and 20 this morning. The silver Middlebury police car drove through the intersection and could see that the lights weren't working before the accident.

police directing the accident????!!!??? Yes there were police directing traffic after the accident! Not before. Had there been someone directing the area, then the accident would have never happened. Get your facts right! I watched the accident at my workplace on the corner of 13 and 20.
