INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Court of Appeals Thursday affirmed the battery conviction and sentence of Kwasi Barnes, who was found guilty in 2007 of a Class A felony in the death of a 15-month-old girl.

Barnes, 30, of South Bend is serving a 48-year prison sentence for causing injuries to DeNeja Coleman that led to the toddler’s death in 2005.

Barnes had appealed his conviction and sentence on multiple grounds, including whether enough evidence was presented at trial to convict him.

Appeal it, you are a sick person, especially if you even think that you can appeal what you did, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

My nephew was killed by one the same type person that he is. How dare he even try to appeal it . He knows he is exactly where he belongs.

48 years is nothing for taking the life of a child.
