City worker finds body outside North Judson church

NORTH JUDSON — Police are investigating a body found in the back yard of a Starke County church.

A city worker checking a drainage problem found the body of 45-year-old Donald Minix of North Judson around 11:30 Friday morning. It was just inside the fence of the North Judson United Methodist Church.

Police don't know how long the body had been there, and aren't saying how he died, pending the outcome of an autopsy.

It seems odd to me that a person could lie dead for a week and not any body finding his body. I know the family and they said they had reported him missing. Why are there so many different stories going around? Was he beaten to death? Was he murdered? Why doesnt the county Know yet if there is a murder in our community? I think an update Is needed to put peoples minds to rest. He was a good hearted man and if someone did kill him they need to be found. People need to know accident or murder.

Autopsy hasn't been done yet...so definite cause of death has not been determined. We are having a memorial service tomorrow (tues the 13th.) visitation is 1-3 and the memorial service starts @ 3:00...for anyone that's interested.
