Two injured in crash on Western Avenue

SOUTH BEND — Two men were injured in a three-vehicle crash about 9:45 a.m. Tuesday on Western Avenue at Wellington Street.

A black Chevrolet Blazer collided with a U-Haul truck, and a motorcyclist behind it fell off his motorcycle after it became wedged under the U-Haul, emergency responders at the scene said.

The motorcyclist and driver of the Blazer were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that did not appear life-threatening.

All three vehicles were eastbound on Western at the time of the accident, authorities said.

It's so funny that you mention that AM cos I live in Rochester and the reason why I was in South Bend was to get my license reenstated due to being involved in an accident (not my fault, I got rear ended), I've learned that very hard expensive leson and will never go without insurance again!

You should not have been on the streets with an un-insured bike anyway, your just lucky your not at fault..glad to hear your not hurt but don't drive without insurance, because you may hurt someone else then you will pay, BIG!!!

Thanks Jacki, I'm fine. Mostly had the wind knocked out of me. My bike is a total though and it wasn't insured to cover the cost of replacing it. Guess I'll be walking to work.

I drove by this accident today and it looked worse than what they are reporting, I just hope everyone is okay especially the one who was driving the bike cos it was wedged up under the U-haul!! Hope you get back to riding soon.
