12-year-old critically injured in Elkhart County accident

A 12-year-old boy is in critical condition after an accident in Elkhart County Friday morning.

It happened about 7 a.m. when a woman driving on C.R. 32 ran a stop sign and was hit by a truck that was traveling on S.R. 19.

The woman and her 10-year-old son have minor injuries. Her 12-year-old son was transported to Elkhart General with critical head injuries.

I just visited the family and the 12 year old is still in ICU, but is improving. They could still use everyone's prayers. To clarify, the story above was incorrect as the driver did not run a stop sign. She stopped looked and then drove through the intersection. She did not see the approaching truck until it was too late.
