DETROIT -- The 11-week strike between American Axle and the United Auto Workers could soon be over. There is a tentative agreement between the two sides.

A spokesperson who was briefed on the agreement says the auto part supplier has boosted its wage offer and increased payments it will give workers to take a wage cut.

The union says details will be presented to members in Detroit
Sunday. About 3,600 UAW members at five factories have been on strike since February over the company's demand for reduced wages. That includes the plant in Three Rivers.

Workers at the Hummer H2 plant and Nyloncraft -- both in Mishawaka -- and Warsaw's Explorer Van have been off the job because of the parts shortage.
