The sheriff's office said Michael Masterov, 40, of Eau Claire, was heading east on Naomi Road as Elester Williams, 52, of Dowagiac headed north on Hochberger Road about 6:30 p.m. when the two collided.

Williams was pronounced dead at the scene, while Masterov was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.

Masterov later died at the hospital, authorities said.

The Berrien County Accident Reconstruction Team was called to investigate the crash.
