By Beth Boehne

A five-year veteran of the Elkhart Police Department has been arrested for felony domestic battery and interference with reporting a crime.

Police were called to a home on Elkhart’s north side about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday. There a woman told the officers she wanted to file battery charges against her fiancé, 40-year-old Christopher Paciorkowski, for pushing her.

Because Paciorkowski is an Elkhart police officer, officers requested the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department handle the complaint.

The Sheriff’s Department determined there was enough probable cause to arrest Paciorkowski for felony domestic battery and interference with reporting a crime. He was booked into the Elkhart County Jail.

Paciorkowski was placed on administrative leave according to the Elkhart Police Department.

Neither has lost their kids. He says he is resigning but still hasn't done it and he's got another girlfriend living with him now. Ladies and guys too please contact me if you have any information about him that would help me protect my kids. I just want the truth. Anyone he has treated badly, restrained, held a gun to, to get what he wants. Anyone who has been around his drinking etc.. He usually has three girlfriends at a time. Julie-eagan@hotmail.com

I just think it is funny how these two try to portray themselves as this happy jolly family-loving couple now, when just a month ago they were pushing and fighting and calling the cops on each other. What wierdos. Some people need to grow up, I swear. Act your age, folks! It's not THAT difficult.

oh by the way. whatever he got from court to keep him from the boys is a joke. They are all in the same house, but I can tell you that if one of the boys ask a question or says Christophers name, they get slapped and told not to say his name, so it won't slip that they are around him. Abuse never stops without professional help and thou it is court ordered for Christopher he doesn't go and it's clear Christy needs it too.

well for all of those interested, it looks like she will be dropping all the charges against him, since she moved back in with him a week later. and her kids father didnt think it was apropriate and took her to court and the judge told her she couldnt have her sons around him until his charges were cleared. and for you Julie the mother of his daughters. you should file something else with the courts.

I feel that this is a public matter as it should be with all incidents invovling a police officer. Most Police officers are very responsible and handle themselves with professionalism, However there are some officers out that think that if they have a badge and gun they can get by with anything. I feel all police officers should be held to a higher standard. They take an oath to protect and to serve, So they should ALWAYS abid by the laws they are paid to enforce. If they don't They are out!!!

I think it is obvious that the present police administration is not going to put up with officer misconduct. I think the action they have taken since the first of the year in dealing with misconduct speaks for itself.I am sure if this officer that has been charged is found guilty in a court of law he will be dismissed. If anyone out there has any real factual information on this officer they should go to the police department and share that information.

I know a police officer that lost his job for interference with reporting a crime. Why should Christopher be any different?

Maybe ECSD should investigate his file. In fact I know complaints have been made about him, and because the complaints were made at the ECD they were swept under the rug. I personally know who they were made by. (his first ex-wife and second ex-wife). I know they have upper deck party after hours that are on the parking garage of the dept. where the get drunk and drive home. They would give someone a ticket for this, but because they are police officers they get away with it. What does this say!

Hey, I am not advocating for what he did and he should be punished, however I work Police Officers everyday (NOT EPD) they are humans, they make mistakes. 75% of police families have domestic voilence, maybe we should look what is causing this and develop a program to help the officers with angry management and separating and personal and professional life. I know we all have to do it in our jobs but most of is don't have to carry a gun for fight for our lives on regular basis either.
