Joe Donnelly to run for second term in CongressBy JAMIE LOO, Tribune Staff WriterSOUTH BEND — Second District Congressman Joe Donnelly officially announced his re-election bid Monday morning at Deluxe Sheet Metal. Solutions for rising gas and food prices, the housing crisis and health care need bipartisan cooperation, the Granger Democrat said. He said he will continue to do what’s right and pledged to bring "common-sense Hoosier values" to Washington, D.C. "We can’t wait for Washington to change," Donnelly said. "We need to keep working to change Washington. I’m as committed to that goal today as I was two years ago." Donnelly is facing Republican Luke Puckett, of Goshen, in the November election. As if it wasn't 'painfully' obvious. he's another insider who's gotten taste. he hasn't done anything 'substantial' or anything that wasn't already in the works. Puckett's getting my vote. And I'm not a republican. the demos ran on change in 2006 and they've accomplished squat in two years. Monday, Jun 30 at 1:42 PM Michiana Voter wrote ...Can Joe say Speculator? Why haven't you acted to fix anything? have another nice long vacation, travel paid by the speculator and taxpayer. In fact, start with "changing" our mayor Luecke. Monday, Jun 30 at 12:29 PM Voter wrote ...Say Joe, who are you going to represent if you get elected again? Do you expect us to believe you are representing your district? It did not take you long t become one of them. Why wait for a second term for solutions? We need someone who will take action as soon as there is a problem. I say no to Joe. The only time your presence is visible on South bend's west side is during a parade. Kind of like Luecke. We need real leadership, not yes people. Add a commentMost Popular |

I agree with Dick Tracy. I'm not voting for Bush again. He's making enough money off his beer.
