Hundreds without power in South Bend

SOUTH BEND – About 430 Indiana and Michigan Power customers are without electricity Wednesday afternoon.

Spokesman Dave Mayne said the outage occurred near the intersection of S.R. 23 and Douglas Road, north of the city.

Mayne said the crews are working to restore power and it is expected to be back on by 4 p.m.

The cause of the power outage, Mayne said, is not known.

This area is involved with a lot of medical facilities and Trans Tech needs to be more careful. Maybe they should locate lines before they dig and not while they are digging. There is a surg. center, medical imaging, doctor offices where all three have patients in the mist of proceedures. Think of your loved one on the table and some cowboy knocks out the lights for hours. Please be careful.
