ELKHART — City police conducting their fifth prostitution sting of the year arrested 12 people Wednesday afternoon for suspicion of various prostitution offenses, police say.

Elkhart Police Department’s street crime unit used male officers posing as "johns" to work the west central area of the city for about two hours, where they arrested three women.

Female officers who posed as prostitutes also concentrated in that area and on South Main Street, arresting nine men accused of patronizing, including two who were also arrested for suspicion of promoting prostitution.

The accused range in age from 23 to 72.

What a bunch of low lifes. With all the diseases out there it's hard to believe this kind of thing still goes on.

Jeff, Naomi, and Goethe are making good sense. The cops did a great job at getting rid of unwanted trash, and some moron has to show off his low IQ by saying "duh, they always done it so it must be okay..duh". Just because a wrong has been committed before, doesn't make it a right. As for Vegas, if you are too lame in this sleasy, moralless age (where everyone seems to be looking to hook-up) to find a "friend", go to Vegas and stay there, we won't miss you.

Regarding Kendrick - Prostitution is against the law. I do not want this stuff going on here. I think these people need to be locked up. If you want sex go to Vegas it's "legal"

The little things matter. If you let the little things go, it leads to the big things. The big things become weaker and diminished when you go after the little things. It's too bad Giulliani was such an uncharismatic and clutzy candidate, and thought he could coast into the White House on 9/11. He cleaned up NY by going after the little things. It is now one of the safest cities in America. Meanwhile, the midwest is turning into a prison yard.

Wow. It took all of 30 minutes before some one chimes in with the same old "why are the cops doing this?" garbage. Like anyone wants this trash going on in their neighborhood. I've been watching the news and seeing the cops catching murderers, rapists, drug dealers and armed robbers, but still that ain't good enough. Whatever they do, some pinhead will write in to say that it was wrong. That gets so old. Good job Elkhart police!

I agree with Naomi. Names, please. And if you can get phone numbers that'd be nice too. A lot better than driving around asking for them.

I think they should post their names on line to embarrass them so they wouldn't want to do this again. This is not a victim less crime like people say it is. It promotes people to other crimes like abducting and murdering 12 year old girls.Treating all women like Prostitutes. Thank you Elkart Police!
