CASSOPOLIS — One motorist was taken to a local hospital and a second was treated at the scene after a two-vehicle accident Thursday on Brownsville Street, east of Day Lake Road.

Deputies with the Cass County Sheriff's Department said Jessie Goodger, 53, of Vandalia, was transported to the hospital via ambulance.

The motorist treated at the scene was identified as Jami Glover, 84, of Vandalia.

Police said Glover attempted to turn left into a driveway about 3:15 p.m. and failed to yield to a westbound pickup truck operated by Goodger.

After the impact, Goodger's pickup struck a tree, police said.

Officers reported both drivers were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not a factor.
