SOUTH BEND — Fireworks likely kindled a fire on the city’s west side Friday night.

Officials arrived at 1310 W. Liston and found the exterior of the home burning. The fire then quickly spread to the attic.

Residents evacuated the home before responders arrived, officials said.

At the scene, investigators determined fireworks placed too closely to the home ignited the blaze.

Officials report no one was injured during the fire.
