Pregnant woman hospitalized after stabbing

A pregnant woman was hospitalized early Sunday after she was stabbed during a fight in South Bend.

City 911 dispatchers said the woman was stabbed during a large fight near Laurel Court, not far from Alonzo Watson Park on the city's near west side.

Units were sent to the 1000 block of West Laurel Court to help the woman, who had cuts to her neck and below one arm.

She was taken to the hospital and was in stable condition, authorities said.

There was no word on what caused the fight, and police did not immediately have a suspect in custody.
