SOUTH BEND -- The Military Honor Park is holding its second annual Honor Our Veterans weekend. Re-enactors from each war have set up a camp to show visitors what life was like in the old days, from what they wore to what they used for shelter.

They also showcase a lot of the guns used in each time period.
Saturday they fired off Civil War cannons and World War I rifles.

The event is about more than just living history; it's also a chance to say thank you to a veteran who served our country.

"They didn't go over there to be heroes, but nobody treats them like heroes and that's what they are and that's why I got into this and it's a very soft spot for me," said Rick Jipping. He has had several family members serve in World War I and II.

Re-enactors will be at the park again Sunday from 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.

The event is free, and it's $3 to check out the Honor Park Museum.
