MISHAWAKA — Neighbors applauded Tuesday night after police arrested two men during a drug raid at a home on Main Street.

In response to numerous complaints by neighbors, the county’s Metro Special Operations Unit began an investigation into possible illegal activities at a home in the 800 block of North Main Street, just south of Battell Center, about a month ago, said Capt. Robert Hammer.

About 8 p.m. Tuesday, police served a narcotics search warrant at the address, recovering an undisclosed amount of illegal drugs, including suspected marijuana.

Two men were arrested during the raid, one of whom was argumentative with police. The names and ages of the men have not been released.

As police took the two men into custody, several neighbors standing on the other side of the street broke out in applause.

Mishawaka police assisted with the raid.
