NILES — It was an overwhelming outpouring of support as hundreds turned out to say goodbye to John and Carolyn Tarwacki. The Niles couple was found murdered in their Cass County home Friday afternoon. Monday night, more than 200 of their family and friends gathered to say goodbye.

SOUTH BEND — The final projections are in, and the numbers add up to only one thing: major cuts to public safety in South Bend. Up to 40 police officers and 53 firefighters could be on the chopping block if new revenue isn't found.
