Keystone RV announces layoffs
(WSBT file photo) GOSHEN — Another blow to the RV industry — Keystone RV in Goshen is laying off almost 300 workers. CEO Ron Fenech says 290 workers were laid off Thursday morning, effective immediately. Fenech says the uncertainty of the market is the problem amid the struggling economy and high gas prices. He says it's not uncommon for RV companies to lay off workers heading into the fall when the summer camping season ends, but adds Keystone has never done this before. The company will still employ 2,600 people. The announcement comes just three weeks after Monaco Coach laid off 1,400 workers in Elkhart County.
