ELKHART CO. — Another RV company is closing its doors leaving more workers without a job.

A company official from Pilgrim International says they're temporarily ceasing operations at all their Elkhart County plants, effective immediately.

He says the company is re-evaluating its status, but its goal is to re-open eventually. He did not know how long those plants would stay closed.

An employee told WSBT News the layoffs affect 178 people at four plants in Elkhart County.

Another company official, John Moore, said eight buildings total will be closed, though not all are plants. He confirmed the company is closing as a result of slow sales and the current marketplace.

So far more than 3,400 RV workers in Indiana have lost their jobs this year.
