Residents escape Edison Road house fire

Crews battle a fire on Edison Rd. early Wednesday morning. (WSBT photo)

Fire struck a two-story home on the far west side of St. Joseph County early Wednesday.

County 911 dispatchers said the fire, reported just after 3:30 a.m., was in the 29500 block of Edison Road.

Residents of the home were able to escape the flames, and there were no immediate reports of injuries.

The cause of the fire was not yet determined as crews remained at the scene.

Authorities said Edison Road remained open to traffic.
