MISHAWAKA (AP) — A food pantry that serves more than 2,000 people a month in Mishawaka has reopened its doors, but its future remains uncertain.

The Bridge board of directors runs the non-for-profit organization, but the township pays salaries and provides the pantry's building.

The Bridge was shut down earlier this month shortly after a Penn Township trustee said three of the four jobs at the agency would be cut because of budget strains.

Board director Paul Baldwin told the South Bend Tribune that the food pantry will likely look to move somewhere else.

Trustee Jeff Dean says the township expects to sell the building if a buyer can be found.
