BOURBON — A construction material warehouse was destroyed in a fire along U.S. 30 near Bourbon early Monday.

According to a spokesman for the Bourbon Fire Department, crews were sent to the S and K Construction warehouse at 409 Old U.S. 30 shortly before 2 a.m., after a caller reported heavy smoke coming from the building.

Firefighters responding to the blaze reported heavy black smoke pouring from the eaves of the building and flames shooting from the roof. The roof later collapsed.

No one was believed to be in the building at the time of the fire, and investigators still were working this morning to determine a cause for the blaze. The building was believed to be a total loss.
