SOUTH BEND — The Child Support Division of the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office was recognized this year by the state’s Department of Child Services for achieving the most improvement in the establishment and collection of child support obligations for large counties in Indiana, according to a news release from the prosecutor’s office.

The prosecutor’s office said its child support division in 2008 has collected 16 percent more money for children and families than in the same period in 2007.

St. Joseph County Prosecutor Michael Dvorak credited his staff as well as the county courts.

The award was given at the state child support conference in June.
