MICHIGAN CITY (AP) — Three people have been charged with possession of marijuana after neighbors reported seeing a large marijuana plant through a front window of a Michigan City home.

Police Sgt. John Deaner was off-duty at his nearby home Tuesday night when two neighbors told him they could see a potted marijuana plant in the window. Deaner said he went to the home, saw the plant through the window and called for patrol officers.

Along with the marijuana plant found in a front bedroom, the officers discovered more plants in a garage on the property and arrested two men and a woman.
