SOUTH BEND — One man is dead and another has been arrested in connection with his murder.

It all started around 7:15 p.m. Thursday when police were called to the 2500 block of W. Linden Avenue for a report of two males fighting.

Larry Leonard, 48, of Michigan City, was bleeding from the head when police and paramedics arrived. He was able to talk to police before being transported to a local hospital.

Shortly after arriving there, Leonard's condition began to deteriorate and he later died. Autopsy results show Leonard died of multiple blunt force trauma to the torso, which caused internal bleeding.

Witnesses at the scene said they had seen Leonard involved in a fight with another man.

Friday afternoon, the County Metro Homicide Unit arrested Dewange Dotson of South Bend in connection with Leonard's murder. He is in custody at the St. Joseph County Jail pending formal charges.
