Robbers fire shot, steal cash register at South Bend store

SOUTH BEND — One shot was fired late Friday as five masked men robbed the Olive Street Convenience Store, police said.

According to South Bend police, the men entered the store, at 815 N. Olive St., about 9:45 p.m. wearing red masks. They demanded money and then one of the men reportedly fired a shot at the store owner, missing him.

The men then ran from the store with armfuls of clothes and the cash register, police said.

One shell casing was found inside the store.

Olive street is okay, going towards Walmart, but anything past Lincoln Way west is not good. I have always seen cops out there. You do live in a good neighborhood if you yourself are good. Change has to begin somewhere...let it begin with you! : )

There are police over there, but not as much as the "Lake". I know because every night when go home there is a cigarette smoking (during the stop) Walkerton Police officer pulling someone over at Olive and Westmoor.

What makes this people act so crazy. Grabbing the cash register thats heavy and them clothes, for who are they taking them clothes. Who will wear stolen dresses and pants or braws that are so small it will not fit anyone. So, please, stop robbing convenience stores and larg supermarkets because they have cameras and also stolen goods do not provide good luck for you. Remember what your mom told you.
