Robbers fire shot, steal cash register at South Bend store

SOUTH BEND — One shot was fired late Friday as five masked men robbed the Olive Street Convenience Store, police said.

According to South Bend police, the men entered the store, at 815 N. Olive St., about 9:45 p.m. wearing red masks. They demanded money and then one of the men reportedly fired a shot at the store owner, missing him.

The men then ran from the store with armfuls of clothes and the cash register, police said.

One shell casing was found inside the store.
