Whatever. You probably write under numerous names or anonymous so us regulars don't know who you are - right? I read them 1/2 time to see how our society thinks and feels and the other 1/2 just for giggles. Also, it's a shame you won't be writing anymore since you won't be reading anymore. CHOW.

Jane I feel your pain. As I was reading your comments I experienced this sharp pain right here and then a dull pang kind of feeling just below that. It hurts when people say stupid imature things. The rest of us should not have to be subjected to it. These articles should be reader input free. Just the facts. No more-no less. I don't care for this venue either but i have learned that I get a lot less ink on my fingers than I do when reading a newspaper. So Jane I don't know what to tell you.

Hey 4:33PM Anonymous, learn to spell and punctuate. If this is what our public education system is turning out, we're in a lot of trouble.

You know what i wish. I wish they never but this on the net for people to comment. Most of you sound like idiots. You comment rudely before you even know the facts. I don't even read what you have to say anymore. It takes away from the article for me to read stupid comments by people.

Drunks causing accidents are no longer number one-it's those idiots who have to have a cell phone up to their ears at all times. Give me a break-what the heck is so dang important that you have to have your cell in your ear. At one time I thought they were great but they are now a pet peeve of mine. You can't count 5 cars without at least 1 having their cell to their ear, they've invaded our stores, restaurants, sidewalks, wherever we go. How did we manage before they came along? Pay attention.

Pardon me 9:59 but at that time last night I was drunk which is why I wasn't in that or any other van or vehicle. It's completely reasonable to suspect soemone being drunk was a cause and it still has not been reported that there wasn't. If you don't like what people write don't read it. If you whine about it you are making yourself out a target. Some of you actually think you better than everyone else, especially people who have a different perspective than you. You're not as good as you think!

cornfusion, you're a complete idiot! Wouldn't you be ticked off if you were in that accident and people were jumping to the conclusion that everyone was drunk? get a frickin life.

Welcome to the internet. If you expect sympathy and consolation from a bunch of people that know you only from a little blurb on a news site then you need to stop and get some perspective. This site provides so few details in many of it's reports that it leaves a lot open to speculation. I like to fill in the blanks myself and comment on some local and national issues that might relate to the story. Some of the comments from other people on here are hilarious (many of them unintentionally)

4:33 PM, How do we KNOW it was you in that van? It was a bad enough accident but the fact of the matter is it was only highlighted for one reason. The news media KNEW people would jump to the conclusion that the crash was caused by drunken Notre Dame Fans; and guess what... It worked! It's great that everybody is pretty much okay and just shook up but back off the bloggers. They are mainly mocking the news coverage and each other. You deal yourself the bigger insult by letting it bother you.

These accidents seem to happen after a home football game for N.D.as someone gets impatient in traffic and a couple of drinks under there belts.Wait until next week you will see more accidents because the game is close to home for the visitors and has been a riverly for years. The tailgate parties will run from early game day until after the game.

All of you need to grow up!! Just because it says the Alcohol Crash Team is investigating it, doesn't mean they were drunk. They investigate ALL the accidents anymore. Even the lady that had a heart problem last week in Mishawaka that caused the accident. Instead of spending your time making stupid or inconsiderate remarks, you could say a prayer for those that were hurt. Oh wait! that would be beneath some of you, wouldn't it?

I can't believe you people are jumping all over the guy for stating his opinion. Better them than a van full of kids on their way to prom, or senior citizens coming home from Bingo, or a family of 9 just returning home from the movies, or an innocent, yet extremely gifted, family of raccoons that were on their way to a family reunion. SOMEBODY had to be in that van, it wasn't driving itself. If it were put to a vote I believe the people the writer mentioned would have elected. They'd get my vote

What a horrible thing to say how dare you hope anyone is injured. You need some help if that is the kind of attitude you have all I can say is I hope no one you care for ever ends up hurt in an accident. Shame on you. This just shows how bad our society is getting when a person would make a remark like that. I am sure if it was his relative laying there hurt he would not have said that My prayers are with those who were hurt I hope they will be ok.
