FLORENCE, Ala. (AP) — An Indiana man is being held in a north Alabama jail for bank robbery.

Florence Police Chief Lyndon McWhorter said a tip from a motel clerk led to Sunday's capture of 29-year-old Mark A. Smith of La Porte, Ind.

Smith is accused in Saturday morning's robbery of CB&S Bank in Moulton.

McWhorter said police and FBI agents took Smith into custody without incident.

Police said more than $9,500 in stolen money was recovered.

Smith was being held without bond in the Lawrence County Jail.
