NOTRE DAME -- University officials are encouraging fans to park at off-site locations and use shuttle service to the campus Saturday. It's due to flooding at Notre Dame's primary game day drive-up football parking lot.

The university says heavy rain overnight has left a major portion of the White Field parking area north of campus under water, according to Phillips Johnson, director of Notre Dame Security Police.

White Field is on Juniper Road between Douglas and Pendle roads.

Fans with reserve parking passes are not affected; reserved parking areas have not flooded.

Off-site locations that provide shuttle service include the Town and Country Shopping Center on McKinley Avenue, College Football Hall of Fame, South Street Station, Washington and Main (across from Holiday Inn), Saint Mary’s College, St. Joseph’s High School, and many local hotels. Shuttles begin approximately three hours before kickoff and provide prompt returns following the game.
