SOUTH BEND — A jet carrying more than 100 passengers made an emergency landing at South Bend Regional Airport shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday.

The Southwest Airlines flight originated at Midway Airport in Chicago and was bound for Connecticut, said Kyle Phillips with airport operations early Monday.

Flight 1206 was scheduled to depart Chicago at 8:35 p.m. CDT en route to Hartford's Bradley International Airport, according to online flight tracking sources.

It was due to arrive in Connecticut at 11:35 p.m. but was diverted.

There were no injuries reported, Phillips said. South Bend emergency units were dispatched to the airport around 10 p.m. but were told to disregard en route after the plane landed safely.

City 911 dispatchers said that fumes could be smelled in the cabin.
