Government agencies, including the Indiana National Guard, have been sent to respond to the parts of Indiana hit hardest by this weekend’s storms and flooding.

The largest deployments have been made in Lake County, where flooding is extensive. National Guard troops are assisting with sandbagging efforts in the area, while personnel from the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Indiana State Police, Indiana Department of Homeland Security, and Indiana Department of Transportation also have been dispatched to the region.

Other parts of Indiana receiving additional state workers after the weekend’s rain and storms include Marion, Porter, Jasper, Scott, and Crawford counties.
