A home for those in search of a new career home.

That's what the Economic Development Corp. of Elkhart County has come up with on its Web site.

The EDC of Elkhart County launched its "Workforce Assistance" links page Monday to aid the recently unemployed workers of Elkhart County.

Links are available to a wide variety of resources for employment, education and training, and financial assistance from organizations and institutions working to assist the workers.

"What we learned is that while there are number of folks out there that provide assistance, you just can't find them all in one place," said Dorinda Guss, president of the EDC of Elkhart County. "So through our partnerships and awareness through our 'rapid response' for dislocated workers and various agencies, we felt it appropriate to provide aid through communicating and educating folks on what's available."

The result is a one-stop forum to link all organizations together.

One can access the "Workforce Assistance" links page by going to the EDC of Elkhart County's Web site at www.elkhartcountybiz.com and then clicking the "Workforce Assistance" field in the bottom right-hand corner of the EDC home page.

Links take the participants directly to the appropriate Web site or Web page to assist them with anything from résumé building to educational grants.
