ELKHART — Two Elkhart Memorial High School students were arrested this week on drug charges, according to Elkhart city police.

A police officer working at the high school observed what appeared to be a drug transaction between the two students about 2 p.m. Tuesday, police said. The officer was viewing the school’s video surveillance equipment at the time.

The officer contacted school administrators, who conducted an investigation.

Administrators identified a 14-year-old girl who allegedly sold a single pill of Adderall, an amphetamine prescription drug, to a 14-year-old boy, police said. The pill was recovered.

The girl faces a preliminary charge of dealing a prescription or legend drug, and the boy faces a preliminary charge of possession of a prescription or legend drug, police said.
