SOUTH BEND — A 15-year-old Washington High School student was taken into custody Friday after police were called to Vassar Avenue and Olive Street about a disturbance involving gunplay.

When South Bend police arrived, the teen allegedly ran toward a backyard in the 1100 block of North Olive and went into the home after pulling a handgun from his pocket.
