Police arrest suspect, 18, in Mishawaka armed robbery

MISHAWAKA — Police arrested an 18-year-old on suspicion of armed robbery after a 19-year-old told them he was robbed while walking on Fourth Street about 11:30 p.m. Sunday night.

According to a police report, the victim told police he and a friend left the St. Joseph River where they had been fishing and walked down Cedar Street.

The victim said after they passed a house in the 100 block of South Cedar Street, the suspect ran up and told him he wanted to collected money the victim owed somebody else.

The two continued to talk until the suspect pulled a gun and made the victim empty his pockets and his wallet, police said.
