Fire reported at South Bend church

SOUTH BEND — A church on South Bend's west side was the scene of a small fire early Sunday.

City 911 dispatch said firefighters were sent to the Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church in the 100 block of North Adams Street just after 1:20 a.m.

Arriving crews found smoke creeping from around the doors.

The fire was quickly contained and no injuries were reported.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire.
