UPDATE: Police investigate deadly South Bend shooting

SOUTH BEND — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in South Bend early Sunday morning.

The shooting happened just after 5 a.m. in the 100 block of East Woodside Street.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is involved in the investigation. They say a man died from his injuries but they are not releasing his name.

Shortly after 5:30 a.m., police cars blocked the alley behind the address as detectives continued their investigation.

Other officers placed crime scene tape near the home as evidence technicians and others worked.

Authorities did not release any other details about the case.
