SOUTH BEND – Police have arrested four teenagers in connection with Sunday’s homicide, and are searching for a fifth suspect who they describe as armed and dangerous.

Police announced the arrests in connection with the death of 22-year-old James Martin, who was found shot early Sunday morning at 115 E. Woodside St., at a press conference Friday.

Police said 18-year-old Patrick Henderson was charged with felony murder, burglary and murder because investigators allege that he was one of two shooters in the case. Murder is a more serious charge.

Arrested and charged with felony murder and burglary were three suspects, Devontay Lewis and Erik Neal Jr., both believed to be 17, and Ricky Griffin, 16.

All four suspects were being held in the St. Joseph County Jail.

Tim Corbett, St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit commander, said police are still looking for a fifth suspect, who they believe is potentially dangerous.

Corbett said police believe Joe Williams, 17, who is also known as Joe Joe Williams, was involved in the crime and allege that he also fired a gun at Martin.

Corbett said Williams is 5-foot-9 and weighs about 200 pounds. He has a tattoo that reads "prayers of a sinner" on his body.

Williams is believed to live in the 800 block of North Johnson Street, Corbett said. Officers using K9 units searched for him late Thursday night.

"He knows he’s wanted and is extremely dangerous," Corbett said.
