SOUTH BEND – Police have arrested three men in connection with the shooting of a 17-year-old in Pulaski Park.

Police have arrested Noel Easton, 18; Johnny Byers, 18; and Adam Wojciechowski, 20, all of South Bend. All three are being held in the St. Joseph County Jail in connection with the Monday shooting, although formal charges have not been filed.

The shooting victim remains in the hospital in critical condition and the case is still under investigation.

According to initial police reports, all four were in Pulaski Park, near the corner of Huron and Walnut Streets, when shots were heard about 5 p.m.

Police arrived to find the victim wounded with what police would later say they believe to be shots fired from a rifle.

Officers found the suspects in a nearby home in the 400 block of Pulaski Street, where a short standoff eventually led to their arrests.
