SOUTH BEND — The clerk of a convenience store was robbed late Saturday night by a man who held him at gunpoint.

The victim told police he had just locked the doors of the Munchie Mart, 3525 W. Western Ave., about 11:15 Saturday night when he was approached by a man carrying a chrome handgun.

The man demanded money and left with the man’s wallet in an unknown direction.

The clerk, who didn’t report the crime until Sunday, told police he didn’t get a good look at the suspect and couldn’t provide a good description.
