Police release photos of bank robber

The robber is described as a white male of medium build between the age of 25 and 30 with a thin beard and mustache.

SOUTH BEND — Police have released surveillance photos they say show the suspect in the Tuesday robbery of Mutual Bank at 724 E. Ireland Road.

During the robbery, police say, a man entered the bank about 2:30 p.m. and implied he had a gun, although no weapon was shown. He was given an unknown amount of money and then left the bank, police said Tuesday.

The robber is described as a white male of medium build between the age of 25 and 30 with a thin beard and mustache. Standing 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, he was wearing blue jeans, a cap, tan sweater with dark horizontal stripes and a black leather-type jacket, according to police.

A photo also was released of the suspected getaway vehicle, a blue Toyota Camry with Indiana license plates. Police said Tuesday that the vehicle was believed to have gone south on High Street into the Erskine Plaza after fleeing the scene.

    Oh he's white for sure and it's a good picture of him. As long as he didn't hurt anyone more power to him. Mfb needs to be robbed,deserves to be robbed. It has been robbed more than any other bank and none of the guys have ever been caught,Mfb has never tried to improve security and don't care about their employees. I would hand a robber as much of their money as I could and it wouldn't be bait money.

    I feel comfortable around all kinds of people, but I'm still apprehensive when blurry people are around. The other day, I was about to enter a financial institution, and I saw a blurry guy go in there. Man, I got in my car right away for safety's sake. I never have a problem saying...yep that's me in the picture, but any time they post pic's of a bank robber they are terrible pics !! Why is that ??
