Niles man injured in Cass County crash

NILES — A Niles man was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Cass County Saturday.

The Sheriff's Department reports that Renato Suasto, 27, was driving south in the 200 block of Gumwood Road in Milton Twp. just after 10:30 a.m. when he left the roadway and struck a tree.

He was taken to Memorial Hospital in South Bend for possible internal injuries.

Authorities said Suasto's brother was a passenger in his vehicle, but there was no word on any injuries to the brother.

Authorities said both men were wearing seat belts.

The accident remains under investigation.
